Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year at Golden Horn Elementary School! I would like to introduce myself as the new Physical Education teacher, Emmalee Agnew. I am thrilled to be joining such a great school and community. I am also very excited to be working with the new Physical and Health Education curriculum and to be coaching upcoming events. Please feel free to have a look at the new curriculum at https://curriculum.gov.bc.ca/curriculum. I also encourage you to contact me with any questions or stop by the school for a visit. Find out more about me on the school website under ‘Staff’ web pages and check it often for upcoming events/information.
This year I am implementing a Physical Education clothing policy for the following: Gr.5, Gr.6, and Gr.7. The main focus for this policy is safety and hygiene. Gym clothes may include: shorts, exercise pants, tights, t-shirts, and running shoes. Spaghetti straps and belly shirts are not allowed. Gym clothes are to be stored in students' personal lockers. A two-week grace period is in place for the beginning of the school year. Students are expected to be prepared and changed for the week of September 19th.
It is recommended that jewellery is stored in personal lockers or left with a classroom teacher.
Please send a note to school if for any reason your child cannot participate during P.E. class.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns.
Thanks, Ms. Agnew
